The Medicine of an Honest History
by A.j. Bruno
In moments and times of crisis there is a greater need for clarity and calmness. There is a need for patience, for if we are to seek a healing and the truth that leads to healing, crisis can never be answered by violence. Because violence only answers crisis with more crisis only to create more suffering. So a cycle of negativity only escalates more negativity until someone takes the courage to simply step beyond the destructive cycle.
More than ever people of the world need healing, we need a peace, a true peace that is perpetual and everlasting. This can never be brought about by governments, because it is safe to say that governments will always abuse their positions, especially when the people let them and more so when the leaders of nations have no sense of morality.
This peace we all yearn for can only be brought about through education, an education that caterers to the equality of all peoples throughout the world with respect to each owns culture and history. Education tills the soil of the mind and opens the heart, leading towards awareness, and that awareness will only lead to clarity, and in the process of truth founded education it will lead to a greater understanding of ourselves with respect and understanding towards others.
At this point in time, there is a need for a revision of how history is taught and told. I am confident that the history, that is so sacred to all of men, women and children alike, can be told in such a manner that caters to all nations, cultures and peoples. It shall be a history that tells of mankind's experience on this planet we call Earth, it shall be a history that caters to the truth of The African, The Asian, The West Indian, and The European, with no special respect to one creed or another. It shall be a history told in a light for all peoples and not a light for one and a darkness for another. It shall be a history that tells of each nation's and culture's internal experiences as well as its contact with external entities such as the common experiences and contacts made between two or more nations or cultures. This kind of history shall tell the truth of the exchange and not which culture should be made to look "right" and which culture should be made to look "wrong". And not where one culture is made to look better than another based on pompousness or lack of respect through cultural self centeredness. In this telling of the true history of humanity, if one culture has been found to have acted unjustly or inhumanly, let their injustices be approached with compassion and forgiveness rather than violence, so as to teach all to learn from our past mistakes, so the process of reparations can begin to be made.
There is poverty and crisis that effects people throughout the world, the reasons for these conditions are to be found in our shared history, because most crisis for any people rarely has begun within their own borders and almost always is perpetuated by outside influences. In the telling of this revised history these outside influences most importantly need to be addressed.
When this version of history is finally told it will not only be the story of mankind, but it will prove to be a medicine unto all of us as well because it will initiate a healing that the people of the Earth have yet to witness and receive!
So let the truth of Africa be told, let the truth of the Americas be told, let the truth of Asia be told, as well as the truth of Europe. So let the truth of history resound throughout and within, from and to, the four corners of the Earth. Let us as a people of the Earth find the truth behind the causes for all our present maladies. I am sure when this is done we shall be witnesses to the resilient nature place within all of us by our Creator and miracles will manifest before our very eyes. Miracles such as world peace upheld by the world's peoples rather than through world political policies. Miracles such as the cure for every ailment that can inflict a person. Miracles such as world hunger being abolished. Miracles in industry, such as free electricity and vehicles that run on non-polluting renewable resources. Things shall be discovered about ourselves that at this present time are unimaginable to some if not all.
I speak of a history that makes sense and enlightens, rather than this present state of how history is perceived where it caters to the conqueror and not to those who have been inflicted. A history that frees the minds of people rather than confuses and enslaves the minds of others only to force cultural modes and lifestyles down their throats.
One day all peoples shall have the right to enjoy their culture and sovereignty without being infringed upon by another, without the disintegrating arm of propaganda aimed at any one of us. One day the cultures of all shall sing together, "Free, free of Babylon and those that seek selfish gain at last."
