Early in his life Ian observed how people accepted the most implausible data without question when it came as part of one's religious education. His concern was that the Christian message has mostly survived in
an uneducated environ and that the teachers of this dogma always restricted their research to just the one Book with no consideration for the contemporary historical context. In his research over the years Ian discovered repeatedly that the supposed ineffable 'Word of God' will not withstand much scrutiny at all and its conclusions are not only unsubstantiated but are also at variance with recorded history. His decision to make his findings public was motivated by a simple event. When flooding occurred in the
western Queensland town of Charleville, his own children were told in religious education classes that the people in this town must be evil and that God was punishing them. This was the last straw for someone from the 'bush.' The fact that unqualified and unsuitable people were allowed to teach this nonsense to young children when they were at their most vulnerable, concerned Ian greatly. He commenced his work at that point. His high energy and intelligent questioning resulted in heavy research over several years
yielding the discoveries within these covers. He causes his readers to ask some long withheld questions about the 'truths' taught to each and every one of us in our childhood. This is a good read and compels us to confirm, that like Ian, we were all lied to!
