Spence was a Scottish specialist on ancient lore and wrote many authoritative books on 'Myths and Legends of the World.' Spence also wrote 'The Problem of Atlantis, Atlantis in America,' 'Will Europe Follow Atlantis?,' and others.
In this book Spence sets out on an exhaustive investigation into the sources of Atlantean tradition, Egyptian myths, Aztec traditions and Irish legends. He looks at ancient and recent corroboration from geologists, archaeologists, paleontologists and explorers concerning the Atlantis mystery.
