By the year 3000... the bulk of intelligence will have migrated from organic to non-organic platforms, on molecular-scaled computing media. Extremely rapid brain-to-brain communication and connection to the global web will make our current individuality seem horribly lonely. Some groups will choose to share memories, thoughts, feelings and even identity, while some powerful individuals will spread themselves out over multiple organic and robotic platforms. One person or hive mind may exist simultaneously in animal, human and robotic bodies... death will be overcome by 3000." - James Hughes Although most of the planet is blissfully unaware of what is approaching, lulled by promises of a “great big beautiful tomorrow,” the near future will be anything but beautiful. A terrifying future thunders toward mankind, an impending fate embodied by monstrous, blasphemous combinations of human and animal genetic materials, of man/machine cyborgs, and of beings not only with increased capacities and extended life-spans, but also with re-engineered morality totally void of compassion. This future is so abhorrent as to almost defy the imagination. These new beings, often called "supermen,""transhumanists," or (by philosopher Nietzsche) the "Übermensch" are being called the next step in evolution for the human race. Those looking forward to their arrival claim it will usher in a golden age. But as will be detailed in this book, their reign will be anything but benevolent. Just the opposite. Because the goal of those creating these beings is the hope that they will replace human beings, that the coming new race will be 'post-humans'. One must realize "post" means "after." As in "the human race is gone." One might argue that this could be a gradual process. This is a tragic assumption, however, as will be documented throughout this book. Those working to bring about the replacement of the human race are planning for the process to be rapid and brutal, undertaken with surprise attacks employing plagues and hi-tech, microscopic nanomachines designed to enter a victim's body to rapidly kill cells and bring about the demise of its host. This won't be a progression in which one race slowly and peacefully replaces another, even though that's the misrepresentation that most people receive. The conflict will be violent and bloody, a tooth-and-nail struggle until the old race has been wiped out. What is intended is a premeditated murdering, a "coup de 'tat," where mankind is about its business one day, and in mass graves the next. The goal is to replace mankind with a massive "final solution" that would make Hitler envious. The objective is a quick death for those who are in the way of the coming new superior race. The aspiration of those crafting this superior race is the extinction of the human race. The new inheritors who lead this purge will be the stuff of science fiction. Creatures not unlike the cyborg of the Terminator or the deadly transhuman creature in Species will soon emerge to first enslave what remains of mankind and then rule more ruthlessly than Stalin or Hitler. These dictators have one goal: To kill as many human beings as quickly as possible. What was once the realm of madmen’s imaginations and the stuff of nightmares has now become the unholy grail that factions of the scientific community are striving for. Mankind was kicked out of the Garden of Eden lest “in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Today there are those reaching for that fruit, working diligently to rebuild mankind into a new and wicked image, changing things at the genetic level, and rearranging the basic makeup of mankind into super-beings that will be very much like gods when compared to normal individuals. These geneticists and nano-technologists believe they can out-god God, and see mankind as a “flawed design” that can be reformed into a new, terrifying image. They have no qualms about doing this. Indeed, they are convinced this is the “next step in evolution” that must be taken. They see themselves not as assassins, but as saviors. These are people who are proud to play God. As a proponent of creating a new, post-human race, James Watson recently said, "We are the products of evolution, not of some grand design which says this is what we are and that's it... People say we are playing God. My answer is: If we don't play God, who will?" The transformed creations of these scientists who will play God will (they hope) become a new ruling elite superior physically and mentally to normal individuals. Those forming these transhumans hope to alter themselves as well, and plan to rule alongside these new gods. (What these misguided scientists don't realize is that they'll undoubtedly be viewed as expendable and ultimately will become part of the billions of "normals" who will be slaughtered as the world is transformed into a nightmare ruled by the neo-gods they have created.) Like Pandora who released the scourges and plagues upon mankind, these researchers, intent on improving the human genetic line, will soon release death, sickness, and war upon mankind on a scale that has never before been seen. All the while many of these people are advancing their work with missionary zeal, thinking they will bring a better future to those who inhabit tomorrow's Earth. These men talk of "choice" when in truth they are giving future generations no choice in whether or not they want to be altered to suit the whims of these scientists who feel they should play God; and the improvements these scientists believe they are bringing will instead be war and despair on a scale never before seen. This chilling future is not something a century or two away. Pandora’s box is already cracked open; some of the demon technology has already escaped—indeed much of it is already being put to use. And the lid to this box is opening ever wider, unleashing more terrors on the unsuspecting. The complete transformation is only a matter of a decade away if not much sooner. It is safe to say that most of those reading this book may live to see this terrifying future, and may know the sorrow of seeing loved ones herded into death camps, and of beholding mankind ground into powder under the metal and clawed feet of amoral supermen. This is a deplorable future that would make the mass genocides of the 20th Century pale by comparison. The foundation for fulfilling this nightmare is already in place, and as will be detailed in this book, fully entrenched in government and multinational corporations. There is no “if” to whether or not these things will be put into motion. They are already unfolding and will continue to fruition if not stopped immediately. The creators of this new race recognize no god other than themselves, and see no reason to maintain a sense of morality or assume anything is normal. As political theorist and author Francis Fukuyama summed up the position of those wishing to transform mankind into a new creation:
Mankind is, this argument goes, simply a chance product of evolution . Thus there is nothing fixed, unique, or holy in how he has been assembled. We are simply an accident, and as such deserve no more concern in how we are configured or transformed than would a random pattern splattered about haphazardly when a bucket of paint is dropped. There's nothing, this argument concludes, wrong in changing mankind, and thus the modifications needed to transform are of no moral concern. In other words, there is no right or wrong, only accidents. As we'll see, such arguments and beliefs become powerful motivators that create the smokescreens of logic behind which nefarious plans are hiding. In truth the desires and reasons go far beyond simply tinkering with the random assembly that is mankind. As we'll see the ultimate goal is not only to reform our offspring into new and monstrous images, but also to ruthlessly destroy the normal men, women, and children who will be seen as outdated and useless, chaff to be cast to the wind by those who claim to be the rightful heirs of the Earth, who consider themselves the next step in "human evolution." Perhaps even most terrifying is the thought that these fiends will carry out their slaughter with a “new morality” they themselves define. This mindset will be adopted to transform (in their minds) their actions to moral acts. Like the German Nazis of the past, these monsters will convince themselves that through their murders they are doing a virtuous thing, something that is not only proper but wholesome and necessary. Their slaughter, if it comes to pass, will be undertaken with the lie that it will transform the Earth into a much better place, and that those who take the place of homo sapiens are doing a needful, moral thing, much as a man might feel after ripping a weed from his lawn or squashing a cockroach under heel. And so mankind's worse nightmare, the sum of all terrors, is becoming reality as the time of the Genetic Armageddon approaches. In fact, much of the nightmare is already here, like Nazi storm troopers, preparing to knock at the ghetto door of homo sapiens.
